Colonel’s Galop was commissioned by the Meigs Academic Magnet Middle School in Nashville, TN for their first appearance at the Tennessee Music Educators Association State Conference. The original intent was to sneak in a quote from “My Old Kentucky Home” as a gesture to their conductor, however My Old Kentucky Home took over the piece as a tribute to all of the great Kentucky Band Directors who had a profound influence on me as an educator.
